![]() ![]() ![]() After that, "the game is surprisingly uncomplicated once you can play it" as zero punctuation said. ![]() You will be confused, put down the game and comeback to it for whatever reason and try to over come the learning curve at the beginning of the game, and check key bindings multiple times. "Its controls grow on you" Trav guy said, and yeah, they do. this was a great experience and i urge you try it out yourself.ĭude I love this game, its janky movement results in you phasing through walls, the lack of Linux support is infuriating for the amount of stuff that the developers can just patch in and how a walk through is basically required for the first time player, dear god the short rendering distance and the amount of levels drags the game out a bit but I still love it. the ending felt like a gut punch compared to the wonderful previous 10 hours, but i found myself feeling content after finishing the game anyway. you really felt like you were the only person on that station merely observing the effects of the carnage around you. the journal way of story telling has been done a lot of times, but i sincerely think system shock did it the best. without a guide i could not see myself beating this game especially the reactor overload part and abe's head (i was looking 30 minutes for it because i dumped it somewhere in the corner of the level.) despite this i had a great time playing this game, shodan was an amazing antagonist who watched your every step, the levels were huge and although at times painfully confusing offered a lot to see and experience. by all means this game has not aged well, it offers next to none hand-holding and you have to make sense of the notes left by the dead researchers to figure out your next objective. i was pleasantly surprised by the amount of depth this game had to offer and gameplay variety. I went into this game pretty much blind not expecting much from what looked like a typical boomer shooter. ![]()
